Grief Support Group

Are you experiencing Grief or Loss?

We, at Stull Community of Faith Church, would like to invite you to participate in a grief support program we are offering for those experiencing grief and loss. The need for ongoing support is crucial in your healing and realizing what your "new normal" is, without your loved one. The quality and quantity of understanding support you get during your grief journey will have a major influence on your capacity to heal. You cannot, nor should you try to, do this alone. Drawing on the experience and encouragement of friends, fellow mourners or professional counselors is not a weakness but a healthy human need.  And because mourning is a process that takes place over time, this support must be available months, even years after the death of someone in your life.  When someone you love dies, it can be hard to understand your often complex and painful thoughts and feelings.

We are offering the program "Understanding Your Grief" written by author, educator and grief counselor, Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. The program is intended to companion you on your own unique grief journey. We will be using Alan's book, "Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart", along with the journaling book.

Grief Facilitator Kyle Scheideman recently finished his 150 hours of training at the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins. The course included five separate seminars that discussed death, mourning and how to help families transition through these stages.
